Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, in San Francisco is the site for the 1999 PAS Annual Meeting and Exhibition. The Center will be the point of arrival and departure for the shuttle bus service. The San Francisco Hilton will serve as the PAS Headquarter Hotel and will be the location for most of the related committees and alumni activities.
San Francisco is called "everyones favorite city". San Francisco offers more to see and experience than possibly any other city in the world. Traditional venues include the Golden Gate Bridge, the Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Fishermans Wharf, Chinatown and the Golden Gate Park, which includes the California Academy of Sciences Aquarium, Planetarium and Museum. Other popular venues include Alcatraz, the San Francisco Zoo, Muir Woods Redwood Forest and the wine country (Napa and Sonoma Valley). There are also more than 3000 restaurants from which to choose, more than enough to confirm the citys well-deserved reputation for great food. Weather San Francisco is blessed with a temperate marine climate and enjoys mild weather year-round. Temperatures seldom rise above 70°F (21°C) or fall below 40°F (5°C). Morning and evening fogs roll in during the summer months, but rarely persist. Daytime temperatures in the Spring average 62°F. Visitors are most comfortable with a light jacket or coat handy. An all-weather coat will take the chill off cool evenings. Lightweight summer clothes are seldom practical in San Francisco. For
