NEW THIS YEAR
TRAINEE ONGOING PROJECTS (TOP) POSTERS – MEDICAL TRAINEES ENROLLED IN A RESIDENCY OR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Eligibility
- The presenting/first author must be a medical trainee who is currently enrolled in a residency or fellowship program. They must be the submitter. Medical students and non-physician trainees are not eligible.
- Your mentor is a co-author for this submission
- The project must be IRB approved or exempt with a statement to that effect. IRB pending will not be accepted.
- Data collection for analysis must be complete at the time of submission. Data analysis for pilot projects with a small sample size or preliminary results is acceptable.
- Your submission includes a completed Background, Objective, Design/Methods.
- Completion of data analysis/results will not be complete by November 3, 2025 when abstract submission site closes, but will be complete by January 31, 2026.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT IN SPANISH?
Spanish speakers will have the option to submit in Spanish during the PAS submission process. Accepted Abstracts will be presented in Spanish during the PAS 2026 Meeting.
Note: If you submit your abstract in Spanish, it will be reviewed by Spanish speakers. If accepted, your presentation will not be part of your topic area’s oral or poster session. Instead, your presentation will be in a mixed-topic oral or poster session and presented in Spanish.
\WHAT TYPESE OF WORKS CAN BE SUBMITTED?

- IRB status should be mentioned for most submissions (Exempt from IRB are QI and most large dataset analyses, especially public data sets)
- Literature Reviews – Yes, but standards for LR’s must be followed.
- QI Projects – Yes, but standards for QI must be followed.
- Encore abstracts—Yes, but must be presented at another conference within the past 12 months.
- Industry Sponsor—Yes, it may be submitted to the PAS Call for Abstracts, but you are required to disclose your financial relationship within our COI Disclosure.
CANNOT BE SUBMITTED
- Case Studies – No, it cannot be submitted.
- Narrative data—No, it cannot be submitted.
ABSTRACT PRESENTATION FORMATS
(Platform, Poster, or Trainee Ongoing Projects (TOP)) are determined in January 2026 by the PAS Program Committee.
- Platform sessions are 90 minutes long. Presentations are 15 minutes (10 minutes/presentation; 5 minutes/discussion).
- Poster sessions are two to three hours long and consist of a general viewing and author attendance period.
- Detailed instructions for the preparation of slides and posters, as well as scheduling notices, will be provided to the contact author with the presentation notification.
- The complete schedule of all abstract presentations will be finalized in early 2026.
THINGS TO REMEMBER WHILE SUBMITTING:
- Abstracts: Only the Presenting Author may submit, due to DEI requirements. Trainee Ongoing Projects (TOP) Posters: Only the Presenting/First Author may submit.
- Before a submission can be submitted, all authors/co-authors must complete the following two tasks.

- Per CME guidelines, additional co-authors cannot be added after submission. You MUST include all of your co-authors when submitting.
- All accepted oral abstracts are required to pre-record prior to the PAS Meeting. Presenting authors will also be expected to attend and present in person in Boston.

CITATION OF ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are published in electronic format only. For purposes of citation, please use the E-PAS2026:Publication number.

MANUSCRIPT PUBLICATIONS
Research published in manuscript form prior to the submission of the abstract is not appropriate and should not be submitted. Abstracts that describe work that has been submitted as a manuscript or is a manuscript in revision may be submitted. Authors do not need to take any action if they receive notification of acceptance for publication following submission to PAS.
PAS TRAINEE TRAVEL GRANT PROGRAM
The Pediatric Academic Societies will award trainee travel grants that include free registration and a $500 check to participate in the PAS 2026 Meeting. Indicate your interest in the abstract submission site when applying for awards. (For Abstract Submissions Only, does not pertain to Trainee Ongoing Projects (TOP). Awardees will be selected based on the quality of their submitted PAS abstract; the presenting author must be a trainee. Awardee notifications will be sent in mid-January 2026.
