PAS provides a variety of high-quality educational, career-developmental, and collaborative opportunities to help you make the most of your meeting experience. This new focus for Friday’s pre-conference programming creates opportunities for PAS Partner and Alliance societies to continue growing the pediatric research pipeline and to feature their career development initiatives. We are excited to announce our PAS 2020 Lab innovations.

Trainee Pathway

Focuses on career development, networking, skills development and informational sessions that foster mentor/mentee interactions. As you consider this pathway, please be aware and consider the following PAS Labs to be tested at the 2020 Meeting:

Trainee Zone 

New at PAS 2020! Our Trainee Zone offers PAS trainees a VIP space to connect, network, and learn, as well as Institutional sponsors will be giving 15-minute career development “Med” Talks in the Zone. The Trainee Zone offers allday coffee breaks for trainees, comfortable lounge furniture, device charging stations, and posting boards with job, career, award, and membership information. The Trainee Zone is located on Level 200 of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.  

Opening General Session

Don’t miss the PAS 2020 General Opening Session with our keynote speaker Dr. Francis S. Collins M.D., Ph.D. Join 3000 + colleagues for the Saturday morning program!

Rounds With Experts (Breakfast Included)  

New PAS lab pilot program that is taking the place of the historical Meet the Professor sessions on Sunday morning from 7:30am – 9:00am. Led by 20-30 experts, this event allows attendees to come together with faculty leaders to discuss a variety of topic areas, share their perspectives, and build relationships. Topics will include career development and issues on the forefront of pediatric research and hot topics in pediatrics. Experts will lead two 25-minute table top discussions that includes Q&A. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit two tables. Please be sure to RSVP during the PAS Registration process. NOTE: Attendance is limited to the first 300 attendee RSVP’s received. Be on the lookout for further scheduling details and topic areas to choose from in mid-March.

Trainees on the Town – Spin Philadelphia 

Join fellow trainees at this networking event held on the Sunday night of the meeting at the amazing Spin Philadelphia! Ping pong galore, team building for trainees, DJ, food stations, and passed hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, signature drinks, and soft drinks will be served from 7 to 8:30 pm. We will provide a shuttle service to Spin from the convention center. This is an event all trainees will want to attend!

PAS Meeting attendees are the influencers of growth in the pediatric research field. From building excitement among young med students to experienced veteran researchers PAS 2020 inspires colleagues and collaborators of all ages and background.
