VOLUNTEERS: REVIEWERS AND MODERATORS

Volunteer Now Submission Guide

The energy, enthusiasm, and wisdom of volunteers are crucial to the success of the PAS Meeting. They help review and influence the selection of scientific content, provide context to discussions, and make connections between participants. Volunteering presents an invaluable opportunity to contribute to the success of the meeting while building professional connections and visibility.

Note: If you’re interested in applying for more than one volunteer role, please submit a new application for each additional role, as the required information varies depending on the type of volunteering.

Workshop Reviewers
Active period: September 26 – October 14, 2025

  • Notification of selection as a Workshop Reviewer occurs in September 2025.
  • By volunteering to be a workshop reviewer, you acknowledge that you could be assigned up to 20 submissions to review during the review window of September 26 – October 14, 2025.
  • Additional instructions concerning the review process are provided to confirmed volunteers.

Abstract Reviewers
Active period: November 7- November 24, 2025

  • Reviewing for PAS is a great way to build skills as an abstract writer and critical reviewer of research.
  • In order of preference, volunteer applicants select up to five categories to review.
  • Notification of selection as a Reviewer occurs in October 2025.
  • By volunteering to be an abstract reviewer, you acknowledge that you could be assigned up to 50 abstracts to review during the review window of November 7 – November 24, 2025.
  • Additional instructions concerning the review process are provided to confirmed volunteers.

Moderator/Discussants
Active period: the PAS 2026 Meeting, April 23-27, 2026—plus some time prior to the meeting to review abstracts and speakers.

  • In order of preference, volunteer applicants select up to five categories to moderate.
  • Notification of selection as a Moderator/Discussant occurs in January 2026; scheduling details are provided simultaneously.
  • If selected to be a Moderator/Discussant, you acknowledge that you must attend PAS 2026 in Boston, April 23 – 27, 2026, and are responsible for your own registration. 
  • If you don’t think you’ll be able to participate during the meeting, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP to be a Moderator/Discussant.

Volunteer for MOC 2 Reviewers
Active period: Two weeks in May 2026 with a possible follow-up review period in mid-June.

  • Each reviewer will be assigned no more than 10 submissions, each having five reflective statements.
  • You do not have to attend the PAS Meeting to be a MOC Reviewer.
  • Additional instructions concerning the review process will be provided to confirmed volunteers.
